The Blog

Warning: Blog in moderation (©MRandin)

I started this blog with the hope that someone – other than my mum and dad -   would find my travel stories entertaining. I fancy myself a writer. Not the most eloquent by any stretch of the imagination, but one who can string together a certain number of words into a reasonable sentence. May god bless the person who invented the blog. What a way to achieve personal fulfillment, without Oprah’s help.

So here’s yet another travel blog, trying to break through the crowd of travel bloggers, good and bad. Does Chickstravelflicks have that certain “je ne sais quoi” to help me become THE queen of the blogosphere? Who knows – I’ll leave it to you to decide.

In the meantime, I’ll just continue writing and experimenting with social media applications like the ones you see on this site. Everyday, I learn more about this world through this blog. Everyday it draws me in a little bit more. Some people think that spending too much time in front of my computer is beginning to have a negative impact on my brain. Those people will receive a “thumbs down” if I ever stumbleupon them.

If you’re new to this blog, you’ll find frequent references to “M.”

M. works half time as my husband and the other half as my travel partner and photographer. And yes, he also has a day job where he’s known as “Michel”. Blogging would be a drag and, admittedly, technically impossible without him around. I would dedicate this entire blog to him, but he hates reading and is yet to become a fan of my page on Facebook. Nevertheless I love him with all my heart and have no problems saying so.

Hopefully, you’ve followed me through to the end of this page and so you now know why I chose this WordPress template for my blog: it’s symbolises my love for writing, travel, online socialising and of course, my M. But not necessarily in that order.

Come, bring yourself a cup of coffee (something stronger is advisable for some posts) and stay a while. Then let me know what you think.
